GALAPAGOS ISLANDS



The Galapagos Islands are an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean located 972 km off the coast of Ecuador. It consists of 13 large islands with an area greater than 10 square kilometers, 6 medium 215 islands and other small islets. 

The islands were declared a World Heritage Site in 1978 and 2001 by the UNESCO.También has developed ecotourism in order to preserve the species.
